The Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Vento are three very distinct models:one isan SUV, the other a hatchback, and the third one a sedan. But all three have one thing in common, a 1-litre TSI petrol engine. paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. So, which one of them comes out on top? Let's find out:

On paper, all three models have nothing to separate them, utilising the same 1-litre TSI petrol engine. However, the Kushaq’s unit is slightly more powerful than the VW twins. That being said, with each model having a different body style, their performance in the real world is bound to differ.

Sure, the Skoda Kushaq being tested in sub-optimal conditions does keep it at a disadvantage, but let’s not forget the larger SUV proportions do contribute to it being the slowest of the three models. The Volkswagen Polo is the quickest of the three in both the 0-100kmph sprint and the kickdown test. That being said, the Vento keeps it honest considering it is essentially a sedan version of the Polo.

Taking all the factors into consideration, the Volkswagen Polo is the more affordable offering that also gets the most performance and frugality of the three. That being said, it's also the smallest of the lot. The Vento adds more space for the extra dough you need to spend on it. As for the Skoda Kushaq, it may not be the ideal pick for performance and frugality, but it is the biggest of the lot since it is an SUV, and gets more features on tap. But you’ll have to shell out the most of the three models for it.
