The idea behind making a power packed turbo-charged gasoline injected has been around the globe for quite some time. The first manufacturer to enter into this segment in India was Skoda with the Octavia Rally Sport. Meant for the pure petrolheads, this car not only had the looks to kill for, it also had the power to give away anything for this car. After the phase out of the Octavia RS, people wanted more, and therefore the birth of Skoda Laura vRS took place.
A 1.8 liter turbocharged engine which is already running in the petrol version of the Laura minus the turbo and the fuel being injected into the intake manifold rathar than the cylinder is now capable churning 162 PS of power coupled with a six speed manual gearbox. So, for all enthusiasts expecting the Laura coming with a 2.0 liter TSI engine with the Superb DSG gearbox will be disappointed. On the brighter side of things, the Laura RS 1.8 liter also does a wonderful job of scaring the living daylights out of your partner, provided you want that.
Priced at Rs. 15.49 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi, the bigger, better Laura Rally Sport is rupees two lakhs more expensive than the Ambiente version of the Laura 1.8 TSI, it is surely worth the money. Add to this, the stunning Sprint Yellow and Race Blue colors, the Laura RS makes for the perfect driver's car packed with a whole lot of fun.
