Skoda Octavia RS Is Sold Out!

It looks like Skoda has quite a hit on their hands with the all-new Skoda Octavia RS. The sportier version of the new Octavia has reportedly sold out of all showrooms in India, and will be available only by February next year. So if you were planning on an impulsive buy this festive season, you should probably cross out the Skoda Octavia RS from your list. 

The Octavia RS is available only with a petrol engine and offers some impressive numbers under the hood. The 2.0 TSI mill puts out 230PS of power and 320Nm of torque, and is paired to a 6-speed DSG transmission. It does 0-100kmph in a mere 6.8 seconds! 

However, the changes are not only limited to performance, as it now features an all new bumper, split LED headlamps, and a new set of 17-inch wheels as well. 

As things stand, the Skoda Octavia RS is priced at Rs 24.62 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It won’t be the company’s only launch this year -- it already has the Kodiaq and the Monte Carlo. 

The previous Skoda Octavia was first launched in India in late 2014, and created quite a stir. The sedan is offered in three different variants. The base 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 140PS of power and 250Nm of torque, and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine, on the other hand, produces 179PS of power and 250Nm of torque and comes paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission. 

Unlike the RS, the standard Octavia also comes with a diesel offering. It produces 142PS of power and 320Nm of torque, with the choice of either a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission.

The 1.4 TSI now costs Rs. 15.71 lakh, while the 1.8 TSI comes at a price of Rs. 19.24 lakh. If you want to opt for the diesel model, the 2.0 MT variant will set you back by Rs 17.49 and the AT variant by Rs 21.21 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
