Skoda Rapid Ultima launched at Rs 8.33 lakh

The final version of the current generation Skoda Rapid has been launched in India with both petrol and diesel engines.

Skoda India has launched the final version of the current generation Skoda Rapid in India. The new Skoda Rapid Ultima will be the last version of the car in its current guise before an all-new version makes its way to the Indian market sometime mid-2014. The Skoda Rapid Ultima will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options and is priced between Rs 8.33-9.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). 

 

The Skoda Rapid Ultima gets a long list of additional features over the standard car. The interior is equipped with extra features such as GPS navigation, Bluetooth telephony, leatherette seat covers and a new on-board trip computer. The Skoda Rapid Ultima also gets floor mats and doorsill covers with ‘Ultima’ branding, along with a new multi functional steering wheel. The Ultima also gets projector headlamps and new seven spoke alloy wheels along with a set sporty decals with ‘Ultima’ branding. This final version of the Skoda Rapid is available in diesel and petrol variants across the Ambition Plus and Elegance trims.

 

The Skoda Rapid Ultima is equipped with a 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines producing 105PS of peak power. The 4-cylinder petrol engine produces 153Nm of peak torque whereas the turbocharged diesel engine churns out a respectable 250Nm of peak torque. The Skoda Rapid Ultima diesel comes with an ARAI certified fuel economy of 20.5kmpl whereas the petrol gives 14.3kmpl. The new Skoda Rapid Ultima will be available for a limited period and will be priced at Rs 8.33-9.91 lakh for the petrol-engined version and Rs 9.40-9.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the diesel version.
