Suzuki has unveiled the new GSR250F in the Japanese two-wheeler market. The Suzuki GSF250 is the full faired version of the Suzuki Inazuma motorcycle which is on sale in our country. The new offering is the third 250cc offering from Suzuki after the street bike offering – GSR250 (Inazuma in India) and the half faired motorcycle – GSR250S.
Changes made on the Suzuki GSF250F is restricted to the cosmetic front and apart from the new full-faired body, the bike also gets equipped with raised handlebars to better suit the touring dynamics of the motorcycle. The Suzuki Inazuma wasn’t the most pretty looking motorcycles in the market but the new fairing has made the GSR250F visually more pleasing. The fairing and windscreen should provide the rider with better protection from windblast at high speeds which enhances the touring capability of the new bike.
No changes have been made on the mechanical front and the Suzuki GSR250F will be powered by the same 250cc motor as seen on the Inazuma. The liquid-cooled, parallel-twin mill churns out 26PS of max power and torque rating stands at 24Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox while braking responsibilities are taken care of by Nissin disc brakes at front and rear. The Suzuki GSR250F employs semi double-cradle chassis, and features telescopic forks at the front and seven-way adjustable mono-shock suspension at the back. The fairing has hiked the kerb weight by 6kg and the Suzuki GSR250F tips the scale at 189kg.It isn’t clear whether Suzuki will launch the GSR250F in our market or not. Given the fact, that the Suzuki Inazuma has the makings of good touring bike, the added fairing will not only boost its touring capabilities but also amplify its visually appeal.
