After years of speculation and rumors, Suzuki has finally made its foray into the quarter-litre segment as it launched the Inazuma. The new offering will be available in two shades - red and black. The Suzuki Inazuma is powered by a 248cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine pumping out 26PS of power and torque rating stands at 24Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox, while braking responsibilities are taken care of by Nissin disc brakes at both front and rear. The Inazuma employs semi double-cradle chassis, and features telescopic forks at the front and seven-way adjustable mono-shock suspension at the rear. Other notable feature includes LCD display speedometer and the three-spoke aluminium wheels and the bike tips the scale at 183 kg.
Speaking about the Inazuma, Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIL, says, “Suzuki wishes to offer the Indian rider a product at every price point and in every segment. The Inazuma is a practical 250cc bike that expands Suzuki’s motorcycle portfolio into the premium segment which is showing growth potential. We believe that the Inazuma will be attractive for the youth, college students and motorcycle enthusiasts in metros.”
In terms of design, the Inazuma has been heavily influenced by the B-King and according to Suzuki it will appeal to young riders. The new offering will be brought in to our market via the CKD route and has been priced at Rs 3,10,121 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). At this price point, the bike will be pitched against faired and naked bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR 250R, Hyosung GT250R and the KTM 390 Duke. The Inazuma might appeal to riders looking out for an adequately powered and comfortable motorcycle on which they can tour without much hassle.
