Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) announced that it has updated its entire two-wheeler range to be BS-IV (Bharat Stage IV) emission norm compliant. The Japanese bikemaker said that it has updated the Let’s scooter and Suzuki Hayate EP motorcycle. Suzuki had previously updated the Gixxer range of motorcycles and the Access 125 scooter to be BS-IV emission norm compliant.
Commenting on the accomplishment, Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, SMIPL, said, “We are pleased to announce that all our products across segments are now updated and come only with BS-IV compliant engines. The New Let’s is testimony to our endeavors in bringing to India the most eco-friendly riding solutions in line with the government regulations. We are confident that our products will retain a strong foothold in their respective segments."
The BS-IV Suzuki Let’s has been priced at Rs 47,272 (Ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Hayate EP is priced at Rs 52,754 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). All new two-wheelers to be sold in India have to adhere to the new BS-IV emission norms which will come into effect from April 1, 2017 and is a step by the government to reduce pollution. The Suzuki Let’s is powered by a 110cc, air-cooled motor delivering 8.4PS and 8.8Nm of peak torque. It competes against the TVS Scooty Zest, Hero Duet, Honda Activa i and the Yamaha Ray Z.
