At 110PS, It is 25PS more than its naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol counterpart.
It could be paired with a DCT automatic transmission.
Likely to be offered in top-spec variants at a premium over its standard counterparts.
Tata Motors has been preparing to introduce an additional turbo-charged variant for the Altroz premium hatchback ever since it was showcased in Geneva Edition last year. And now, the carmaker has registered the Altroz with the RTO, revealing its performance figures. It's safe to say that it’ll be a fierce step up from what we’ve currently got with the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine.
The Altroz Turbo will utilise a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with a power output of 110PS. That’s a performance jump of 25PS over the naturally aspirated petrol’s power output of 85PS. It's also 8PS more than the Geneva Edition at 102PS. While torque figures haven’t been revealed yet, it is expected to deliver more than the Geneva show car’s 140Nm since it is already more powerful than the same.
Another party trick for the turbocharged Altroz is that the engine could be paired to a dual-clutch automatic transmission instead of the Nexon’s 6-speed AMT in the near future. Currently, the Altroz is only offered with a 5-speed manual transmission for its 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines.

Spy shots reveal the Altroz Turbo in a new blue body shade that looks similar to the Nexon's Tectonic Blue colour option. It also bears a ‘Turbo’ badge to distinguish itself from its standard counterparts. Expect the Altroz Turbo to be offered in the top-spec XZ variants only.
Tata Motors could launch the turbocharged Altroz variants by around Diwali this year at a premium over the naturally aspirated Altroz variants that retail from Rs 5.44 lakh to Rs 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Rivals include the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 , Volkswagen Polo and the Honda Jazz.
