Tata Motors has silently added a new feature to the Altroz XT, making it an even more compelling package than before. The best bit is that this feature has been introduced without any change in prices. Any guesses what it could be? We’ll give you a clue: it’s regarding the HVAC controls.
Well, the Altroz XT’s AC controls have been upgraded from manual to a fully automatic setup which can even be controlled via voice commands. The introduction of this particular feature makes the Altroz XT a complete package and is the variant we recommend. Here are the prices of the XT and the top-spec XZ and XZ (O) variants:
Tata Altroz XZ (O) |
Tata Altroz XZ |
Tata Altroz XT |
Difference |
|
Prices (ex-showroom) (Petrol / Diesel) |
Rs 7.69 lakh/ Rs 9.29 lakh |
Rs 7.44 lakh / Rs 9.04 lakh |
Rs 6.84 lakh / Rs 8.44 lakh |
Rs 85,000 (XZ O) / Rs 60,000 (XZ) |
Naturally, the Altroz XT is more affordable than the top-spec XZ and XZ (O) variants. Being a mid-spec variant, the XT misses out on some nice features found in the range-topping variants like diamond-cut alloy wheels, projector headlamps, a rear wash and wipe, height-adjustable driver seat, and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Look past that and you’ll notice that this variant packs pretty much everything one would need. Highlights include a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, nice sounding speaker set, climate control, cruise control, a multi-info display, keyless entry with push button start, cornering headlamps, and 16-inch steel wheels with wheel caps. On the safety front, it comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors with a camera. The only missing thing in our books is height-adjustable driver’s seat, which would round off the basic set of features in the XT.
Apart from this update, the Altroz remains unchanged. The Tata Altroz XT is priced at Rs 6.84 lakh and Rs 8.44 lakh for the petrol and diesel variants respectively with no additional cost for the new feature. You can see how the Altroz performs in our detailed first drive review. It locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and will also take on the upcoming BS6 Honda Jazz.
