Back when the Tata Indigo was in its heyday, Tata pulled a brilliant move with the launch of the Indigo CS – a shortened version of the Indigo sedan thanks to having its boot lopped off a little bit. Getting the sedan under the 4-metre mark allowed for enough excise benefits to drop the car’s cost down to almost that of the Indica hatchback, which made the Indigo CS one of the best-selling sedans in the country. Now Tata Motors has something similar in mind for the new Manza sedan.
There are reports that Tata Motors is developing a shortened version of the Manza due to be launched next year. To get the maximum of the excise benefits possible for sub-four meter cars, it is most likely that this ‘CS’ version of the Manza will be launched with the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines from the Vista.
