Tata Harrier EV: Here’s When It Will Be Launched!

It was a momentous occasion for Tata Motors as it celebrated its 60th anniversary of its truck manufacturing facility in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The production facility in Jamshedpur was established in 1945 and started building steam locomotives; the truck manufacturing facility was set up nine years later in 1954. To keep abreast with new technologies the Tata Motor’s Jamshedpur plant has been modernised with the most amount of action being witnessed in the past 10 years. The modern production facility with state-of-the-art equipment and assembly has the capability to produce a truck every five minutes. The Tata Motor’s Jamshedpur plant assembles over 200 units of Tata Motors Medium and Heavy Commercial (M&HCV) models.
Apart from the production plant, the Tata Motor’s Jamshedpur facility also houses the engineering centres to conduct truck testing for vehicle performance in various climatic conditions and varied surfaces. The test facility at Jamshedpur is among the best for commercial vehicles not only in our country but with respect to global standards. The facility rolled out its Two-millionth commercial vehicle, in 2013. Other notable features of the Tata Motor’s Jamshedpur facility includes & outdoor testing facilities for complex vehicle validation, state-of-the-art robotized body shop, engine assembly shop, capable of supplying up to 300 engines per day, automated foundries alongwith Technical Training Centre and Driver Training centre. The facility is also capable of manufacturing trucks compliant right up to EURO VI or BS VI (BHARAT STAGE VI), emission standards.
