Tata Motors recently launched three new additions to their already comprehensive commercial vehicle line up. The new models comprise of the new 407 Pickup and two new variants on the Ace platform - the Super Ace and the Ace EX. The biggest of the new launches, the Tata 407 Pickup is the perfect solution to overloading in small pickups since it offers a payload capacity of 2.25 tonnes - almost double that of conventional pickups currently available. Measuring only 4700mm in length and with a turning circle radius of only 5.5 metres, the 407 Pickup is also extremely maneuverable even through narrow bi-lanes. Tata Motors is offering a 3year/3 lakh km warranty on the 407 with service intervals of 20,000km.

The Tata Super Ace remains a 1 tonne truck, but comes with the 475 IDI four cylinder intercooled turbodiesel engine that makes 70 horsepower and is good to propel the Super Ace to a top speed of 125 km/h making for an efficient and fast transport option. It also sports an extended load bed of 8'7" and with its 4340mm overall length and power steering, is agile. The driver?s seat is adjustable fore and aft and the Super Ace comes fitted with ORVMs, lockable glovebox and a mobile charger socket. Warranty is for 12 months or 50,000km.

The third model is the Ace EX - an economical upgrade on the current Ace. It sports a unique start-stop system which, coupled with the new 5-speed gearbox helps save up to 10 % in overall fuel costs. The Ace EX also uses larger diameter tyres and a higher ground clearance to make short work of minor off road excursions as well. All three new models aim at increasing productivity for their owners by reducing travel time, increasing load carrying ability and savings on fuel.
