Tata Motors will launch the facelifted Nexon sub 4-metre SUV on January 22. The brochure of the upcoming model has been leaked online, spilling certain details. Further, Tata has started accepting bookings for the upcoming model for a token of Rs 11,000. So without further ado, here’s what one could expect from the upcoming model.
Exterior Design:
The exterior design of the Nexon facelift is now in line with the Nexon EV. It comes with an upright nose that houses the sleek grille, projector headlamps and new halogen fog lamps. In profile, the Nexon comes with new 16-inch alloy wheels, whose design looks similar to its EV sibling. At the rear, changes are limited to redesigned LED tail lamps.

Inside, the dashboard layout of the Nexon facelift is similar to the existing model. However, it comes with a host of updates that spruces things up. For instance, the steering wheel is a straight lift from the Nexon EV while the bar-style instrument cluster is shared with the Tigor and Tiago. Then there is the new black-beige colour scheme which lifts the ambience while the dashboard’s centre trim is now in a light golden shade.
Features:

The Tata Nexon facelift is expected to come with premium features like connected car technology, cruise control, auto headlamps and auto wipers. Other features like the 7.0-inch infotainment, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Harman sound system, climate control, steering-mounted controls, drive modes as well as keyless entry with push button start will be retained.
Expected safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a rear view camera, high-speed alert as well as driver and co-driver seatbelt warning.
Engines:
The Tata Nexon will utilise its existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, albeit upgraded to meet BS6 norms. Currently, the petrol engine puts out 110PS and 170Nm while the diesel engine develops 110PS and 260Nm. Both engines will most likely retain their 6-speed manual and AMT options.
New Colours:
As per the leaked brochure, the Nexon facelift will be available with an array of colour options:
Foliage Color
Daytona Grey
Tectonic Blue
Flame Red
Pure Silver
Calgary White
Just like the existing model, the facelifted Nexon will be available with a dual-tone option. All shades except the Calgary White will be available with a white colour dual tone option. The Calgary White, on the other hand, comes with a Sonic Silver dual tone option.
Prices And Rivals:
Prices for the existing Nexon starts from Rs 6.73 lakh and goes up to Rs 11.40 lakh for the top-spec variant (ex-showroom). We expect the facelifted Nexon to start above Rs 7 lakh when it goes on sale soon. The Nexon facelift will lock horns with the Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
