The Tata Nexon has undergone a feature revision. While an official announcement of the updated Nexon is yet to be announced, it should be reaching the dealerships soon. According to a leaked document, these changes have been made based on customer feedback. The updates for the Nexon are both cosmetic and functional and apply to all, but the base XE variant.
On the inside, all variants of the Nexon now get a new piano black trims, instead of the silver finish on the gear knob and matte black surround for the AC controls. The silver trim on the dashboard has been replaced with a warm grey shade too. These changes are expected to make the cabin feel more premium.
The XM, XMA and XT variants which get a 2-DIN music system, get revised fonts for easier readability and a bigger radio antenna for better signal strength. Changes on the XT, XZ, XZ+ and XZA+ include a new roof rail design. The rear blower vents on these variants have also been converted into air conditioning vents and hence, the blower control for the rear occupants has been removed. Apart from that, the XZ+ and XZA+ now get a 12V charging socket for the rear seat occupants. The satin grey door pad trim has also been replaced with a piano black one.
The feature list in the Nexon remains the same as before. So, you continue to get a 6.5-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, steering-mounted controls, multi-info driver’s display and more. Safety features in the Nexon include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, driver and co-driver seatbelt warning, high speed alert and rear parking sensors.
While the updated Nexon is expected to retain the current price tag, we cannot confirm it untill an official release has been issued. Currently, prices start from Rs 6.58 lakh and go up to Rs 11.00 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Tata Motors is also working on the BS6 Nexon which has been spotted undergoing high-altitude testing in Drass. Both the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units in the sub-compact SUV will be upgraded in accordance to the upcoming emission norms.
