The Tata Safari Storme facelift was launched earlier this year but has not managed to make waves like it should have. The new car is much better than the original version but still seems to miss out on a sales for several reasons. Now, to try and infuse some more energy into the aging model Safari, Tata has decided to give even more power to the Safari along with a large bump up in torque figures too.
The new Tata Safari Storme will come with an updated 2.2-litre engine that will make 156PS of peak power and an impressive 400Nm of peak torque. To cope up with the extra power, the Safari will also be mated to a 6-speed gearbox and of course, a rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive option. Other changes might include a set of new 17-inch wheels and slightly better tyres. The new Safari will also probably come with goodies like a limited slip differential as standard fitment.
We also expect Tata to give the recently refreshed Safari Storme even more updates on the interior front. This will include a much needed infotainment system upgrade that will get the Safari in line with some of its competitors. We also expect this sportier Safari to come with some sort of badging that will indicate its sportier underpinnings. That said, don’t expect Tata to make noises about this updated Safari as they would ideally prefer to concentrate the Indian buyer’s attention towards the new Hexa crossover that is due for launch soon.
