The Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTPs are two cars that offer the most thrills under Rs 10 lakh. While both cars are a hoot to drive, they feel a bit lacking when it comes to the feature list. However, Tata Motors is set to address this issue soon as dealer sources have confirmed that both models are set to receive updates and go on sale as soon as August 4!
According to sources, the puny 5-inch touchscreen infotainment unit on both models will be replaced by a bigger 7-inch unit. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will also be part of the updated package. Apart from that, the twins will also get automatic folding mirrors. The Tiago JTP will also come with automatic climate control, a feature that is offered as standard on the Tigor JTP. With the addition of these features, the JTP twins will now be in line with the top-spec XZ+ variants of the standard cars.
Apart from the updated features, standard features on both models include projector headlamps, an 8-speaker Harman sound system, steering mounted controls, multi-info display, power windows as well as driving modes. Safety features on the JTP twins include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, driver seatbelt reminder and follow-me home headlamps.

Under the hood, the JTP twins come with a BS4-compliant 1.2-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol motor. It develops 114PS of power and 150Nm of torque. The JTP twins can only be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox. But the cherry on the cake is their claimed sub-10s time to complete the dash from a standstill to 100kmph.
While Tata Motors is yet to reveal the prices of the updated models, we expect them to cost a bit more than the version on sale currently. Prices for the JTP twins are mentioned below:

Prices (ex-showroom Delhi) |

Tata Motors is also working on a facelift for both the Tiago and the Tigor. Expect the exterior to get a major revamp while the interiors could get minor revisions. Apart from cosmetic updates, they are expected to get BS6-compliant engines as well. The JTP twins are also expected to get the same updates. Both the Tiago and Tigor facelift are expected to launch by the end of this year or at the 2020 Auto Expo.
