The Tata Tiago, a handsome hatchback from Tata, has already received 1 lakh bookings and has more than 70,000 units on the streets already. To add some more flair to it, Tata will soon launch a limited 'Wizz' edition of the Tiago with cosmetic updates both inside and out, over the standard variant. The Wizz edition will be based on the Tiago XT variant (one below the top) and will most likely be launched in mid-September.
From the outside, the most significant change is the all-black roof which adds a touch of sportiness to the hatchback. Complementing the dual-tone theme of the car are a blacked-out spoiler and ORVMs. Other cosmetic changes include wheel covers with red accents, red highlights on the front grille and a ‘WIZZ’ badge at the rear.
The red contrast theme continues inside as well. Updates include red accents around the centre AC vents and a fresh pattern for the fabric upholstery. Since the Wizz is based on the XT, the feature list is the same and includes a Harman infotainment system, turn by turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and front/rear power windows. When compared to the top XZ variant, it misses out on some features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, alloy wheels, front fog lamps and turn indicators on ORVMs.
The Tiago is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.05-litre diesel engine. The former makes 85PS/114Nm, whereas the latter is good for 70PS/140Nm. Mated to both these mills is a 5-speed manual gearbox. Though the XT and XZ petrol variants also come with an optional AMT transmission, the Wizz edition will only get the manual.
The Tiago Wizz will enjoy a limited run in the Berry Red and Pearlescent White shades and is expected to be priced at a premium of Rs 20,000 over the XT variant. Expect a price of around Rs 4.57 lakh, ex-showroom.
