The Ducati Diavel Diesel Is Out For Delivery

Ducati has started deliveries of the new, limited edition Ducati Diavel Diesel, and no, it doesn’t run on diesel. The Diavel Diesel was created in collaboration with Andrea Rosso, Diesel’s licensing creative director. Just like the devil’s number, only 666 units will be made available worldwide.

The power cruiser looks like something straight out of a Mad Max movie, with its visible welds and rivets. The same highlights are carried on to the tank covers, the headlight casing and the pillion seat cowl. Speaking of the saddle, this model comes wrapped with genuine leather and bears the symbol of a pyramid - to represent the three Ds: Ducati, Diavel and Diesel. 

Other distinguishing features include the air intake covers, Brembo front brake calipers and five chain links highlighted in red. There is also an all-new LCD panel and completely blacked out exhaust system on which the new pyramid motif appears, which give the Diavel Diesel a distinct appearance.

The BS IV-compliant, 1198cc Testastretta 11°, L-Twin engine pushes out 154PS of power at 9000rpm and 123Nm of peak torque at 8000rpm, while transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox.

“The Diavel family has been one of the bestsellers in our portfolio. The Ducati Diavel Diesel is a very special motorcycle that exemplifies craftsmanship and style in every detail,” said Ducati India Managing Director Sergi Canovas Garriga. “Our dealers have seen a lot of interest in this limited edition motorcycle and deliveries have started in India.”

The limited edition Ducati Diavel Diesel was first launched in March 2017 at a price of Rs 19.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). However, it was later withdrawn due to BS-IV implementation. Now that the BS-IV compliant Diavel Diesel is here, deliveries have finally commenced, but the GST reforms have hiked the price to Rs. 21.7 lakh (ex-showroom India).

According to reports, Ducati will also make the standard BS IV-spec Diavel available by the end of October 2017. With no confirmation on pricing, we can expect it to be lower than the pre-GST pricing as the XDiavel and XDiavel S have benefited by up to Rs 18,000. 

The limited edition Diavel Diesel will be available across Ducati dealerships in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kochi and Kolkata. Ducati India is also offering festive season discounts like exclusive finance schemes, exchange offers, apparel and accessory benefits up to Rs 1 lakh for a limited period.
