Iconic supercar, Zonda, gets the art car treatment with a swirly paint job

Pagani seems reluctant to kill the car that made it a force to reckon with in the supercar segment. Yes, we are talking about the iconic Zonda, which was supposed to be discontinued after the introduction of the Huayra in 2012. Instead, the Italian brand has been churning out one-offs of the Zonda for select customers for undisclosed amounts. Now, however, there is a very special one on the road, with a paint job designed by artist Shalemar Sharbatly, featuring a vibrant mix of swirls and a variety of colours to make it stand out.

Commissioned by Foglizzo, an Italian luxury leather company, the one-off Zonda has been splattered with dyes used for customising their leather goods. Sharbatly was given a Zonda wrapped in white and was allowed to go to town with it. And that’s exactly what she did!

Each section of this one-off Zonda features different shades of paint. The front gets a mix of blue and green with touches of purple highlighters, while the driver side has shades of cerulean and sapphire. The passenger side, on the other hand, has been painted in warmer shades like red, orange and maroon. All the colours seem to blend in as they approach the tail section of the supercar. It took a total of four days to complete the paint job.

Sharbatly is no stranger to ‘art cars’, mind you. She created a Porsche art car earlier that went on to be displayed at the famous Louvre museum in Paris. She calls her works ‘Moving Art,’ where she takes everyday objects and paints them in colours that elicit a specific mood from the viewers. The Zonda, which can be called a work of art in itself, now looks even more gorgeous because of this unique paint job. What do you think of it? Let us know through our social media channels.
