A group of riders representing different chapters of the Harley-Davidson Owner’s Group has recently concluded a ride to Bhutan. Conducted by the Bengal Chapter of H.O.G, the ride was the third International H.O.G ride organized from India.
Bhutan has become very famous among riders due to its empty and long stretches of roads and beautiful landscapes. Many rider groups organize bike rallies and meets in Bhutan regularly and even Indian motorcycle giant, Royal Enfield organizes the “Tour of Bhutan” every year.
The third International H.O.G ride took place from May 4-10 this month. They were also accompanied by riders from the Harley Davidson Bhutan brotherhood- a Harley owners group from Bhutan.
All the riders initially gathered at a small border town in the south of Bhutan and went on to Thimpu, followed by Paro, Punakha and, finally, Tsirang. They covered thousands of kilometres on their Harleys through Bhutan’s countryside and small towns which included many high altitude roads and terrains.
Commenting on the journey, Adarsh Tulshan, Dealer Principal, Bengal Harley-Davidson, said, “Riding through the scenic roads of Bhutan has always been a rider’s delight as the ride offers dynamic landscapes making it highly desirable for riders. It’s always great to ride with a fellow H.O.G. brother and over the last three years we have seen more and more rider join us for the 3rd International H.O.G. Ride making it an annual affair we love coming back to.”
Sangay Wangchuk, a passionate Harley owner from Bhutan said “Riding alongside our brothers from India, I marveled at the passion and emotion that Harley-Davidson evokes and binds diverse people with. These were all proud Harley-Davidson motorcycle owners, each with a unique story to tell. We take great pride in showing riders our country and helping them navigate through Bhutan's amazing terrain and landscape. I look forward to welcoming Harley owners to a number of unforgettable rides in Bhutan in years to come.”
