Mahindra XUV300 Variants
XUV300 W4
Price: Petrol - Rs 7.90 lakh. Diesel - Rs 8.49 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
Features
Safety: Dual front occupant airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, four disc brakes, speed-sensing door locks with impact-sensing auto unlock.
Exterior: Silver and black front grille, body-coloured door handles, bumpers and ORVM covers, sill cladding and 16-inch steel wheels without covers.
Interior: Dual-tone dashboard, black fabric upholstery, 60:40 split rear bench seats and centred cabin lamp.
Convenience: Electrically-adjustable ORVMs, electric tailgate release, power windows on all doors with a one-touch down function for the driver, multi-mode steering wheel, height-adjustable front seatbelts, adjustable rear headrests, bottle holders in all doors, front armrest with storage and 12V accessory socket.
Audio: 2-DIN audio system with four speakers (limited to diesel variant)
Should you buy this? The W4 variant, like base variants of most cars, serves the purpose of making the Mahindra XUV300 look more affordable. Thankfully it is not a variant you should gloss over while making your purchasing decision, though you may have to pay extra for the audio system in the petrol variant.
XUV300 W6
Price: Petrol - Rs 8.76 lakh. Diesel - Rs 9.30 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
Safety upgrade: None.
Exterior upgrade: Front grille gets silver accents, headlamps with follow-me-home function, wheel caps on 16-inch steel wheels, door cladding, black roof rails, spoiler and black scuff plates.
Interior upgrade: None
Convenience upgrade: Remote key for entry, steering-mounted audio control.
Audio upgrade: 7-inch touchscreen unit with USB, AUX-In, FM and inbuilt navigation system.
Should you buy this? The W6 variant gets some more features over the W4, including the important built-in navigation equipped 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Considering the W8 variants are priced at a premium of Rs 1.5 lakh, ex-showroom - this could be the best variant for you if your budget is up to Rs 10 lakh. Add a reverse parking camera from the accessory list and you should be good to go.
XUV300 W8
Price: Petrol - Rs 10.25 lakh. Diesel - Rs 10.80 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
Safety upgrade: Reverse camera with dynamic guidelines with rear parking sensors, ESP with Hill Hold functionality, front and rear fog lamps with rear defogger, washer and wiper.
Exterior upgrade: Projector headlamps with LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, power-folding ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and silver faux skid plates
Interior upgrade: Piano black door trims, fabric seat upholstery with leatherette steering wheel and gear knob, ambiente lighting.
Convenience upgrade: Auto headlamps and wipers, passive keyless entry with push-button start/stop, sunglass holder, second-row armrest, illuminated glove box, dual-zone climate control, two USB charging ports, 6-way adjustable driver seat, cruise control, one-touch up/down for driver window and 3.5-inch TFT screen for the instrument cluster.
Audio upgrade: 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as voice command, two additional tweeters.
Should you buy this? This is THE variant to go for if you are buying the XUV300, missing out only on some fancy features like a steering direction indicator, tyre-pressure monitor, heated ORVMs, dual-tone roof rails and sunroof. However, go for the next variant if safety is your top priority as it gets five additional airbags.
XUV300 W8 (O)
Price: Petrol - Rs 11.44 lakh. Diesel - Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
Safety upgrade: Knee and side airbags (five extra), TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) and front parking sensors, 3-point seatbelt for rear middle passenger and seat belt reminder for rear passengers.
Exterior upgrade: 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, heated ORVMs, dual-tone roof rails and sunroof.
Interior upgrade: Leatherette upholstery.
Convenience upgrade: Auto-dimming IRVM and express up/down for driver window.
Audio upgrade: None
Should you buy this? Only if you don’t mind a huge premium over the competition for six to seven features. The addition of knee and side airbags does make it seem safer, we will have to wait for the NCAP crash tests to see if they actually make a difference.
