It's not the car for India but could do well in the land of the rising sun with its extremely quirky looks
Suzuki XBee Front

The tall-boy design of the concept car draws inspiration from the Suzuki Hustler that's currently on sale in Japan. The Suzuki XBee, pronounced as Cross Bee, by the way, is a compact SUV. At almost 3700mm long, with a width of 1600mm, and height of 1700mm, it is pretty similar to the recently launched KUV, in terms of size.
Suzuki has showcased three different variants of the car: the Standard, the Outdoor Adventure (with wood finish) and a three-tone Street Adventure.

Suzuki XBee side

It is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo intercooled petrol engine and has a 4WD (four-wheel-drive) drivetrain with driving modes like Sport and Snow. You also get grip control and hill descent control. Further, the engine runs on Suzuki's SHVS mild hybrid technology.

Suzuki XBee interiors

On the inside, it has a three-spoke steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system and an aircraft-style cylindrical climate control unit. The seats flaunt a beehive pattern on the fabric. Also, thanks to the tallboy design, it is pretty spacious and we also expect the boot to be big enough.

The possibility of the car coming to our shores is scarce. However, even if it does, it's not a design that would appeal to our masses; the bulky boxy figure, headlamps that resemble an insect's eyes, the colour scheme of grey, white and yellow that stings your eye; even the wheels are dual tone! However, we will reserve our verdict until more details of the production-spec car come out. That said, it doesn’t look too far away from being production ready.
