Tata, Kia, and MG are the only carmakers to have recorded an increase in sales in FY21 over FY20.
Maruti Suzuki is the only OEM to see an increase in market share due to the underperforming market.
Kia and Mahindra take the fourth and fifth spots.
The Indian automotive industry has taken a huge blow in sales due to the ongoing pandemic. Sales figures from the last financial year (April 1, 2020 - March 31, 2021) show how each OEM performed through this crisis. Let’s take a look at the top 10 best-selling carmakers in FY21:

As usual, Maruti Suzuki maintained its hold on the market despite seeing a dip of around two lakh sales units as compared to FY20. However, its contribution to the overall market share increased by 0.40 percent thanks to the poor performance of the rest of the market. Hyundai came in at a distant second with Tata, again, quite far behind at third. Kia, a relative newbie in the market, came close behind Tata in fourth, helped by the Sonet which was launched in FY21. Mahindra, which has dropped down to fifth, saw its sales reduce by almost half from the last financial year.
Toyota, Renault, Honda, Ford, and MG also feature in the top 10. MG, Tata, and Kia are the only OEMs here to have recorded an increase in sales in FY21, compared to FY20.
