This year has been quite favourable for Indian car buyers, as we have not only seen launches of numerous facelifts but also the debut of a couple of new models. Notable mentions include the Tata Curvv, both its ICE-powered and EV versions, the fourth-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift, the Hyundai Creta facelift, and of course, the formidable 5-door Mahindra Thar Roxx.
The momentum continues, with carmakers set to introduce some of the highly anticipated models by the end of 2024. Here’s a look at ten such models likely to be launched in India by the end of this year.
The launch of the next-gen Dzire has been on the cards for Maruti for quite some time now, and we expect the carmaker to unveil the 2024 Dzire on November 4, 2024. Its test mules have been spotted multiple times, hinting at an updated design along with features such as a sunroof, which will be a first in its segment for the subcompact sedan.
It is expected to borrow the cabin layout and features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a wireless phone charger from the 2024 Swift. Additionally, it will also be powered by the new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z-series petrol engine, producing 82 PS and 112 Nm, similar to one found in the new-gen Swift. Once launched, the 2024 Dzire will take on the likes of the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor.
Although we have not received any confirmation yet, the new-gen Honda Amaze is expected to be launched by the end of 2024. Spy shots of the upcoming Amaze have emerged online showcasing a slightly updated design while maintaining the sporty design of the sedan. The next-gen Amaze is likely to be offered with an upgraded feature set as well, including tech like a 360-degree camera, and a larger touchscreen infotainment unit.
Under the hood, the upcoming Amaze will likely retain the current 1.2-litre petrol engine option, producing 90 PS and 110 Nm. Transmission options will include both manual and automatic gearbox choices.
Skoda's Kylaq will mark the brand's debut in the subcompact SUV segment and the Czech carmaker is all set to globally unveil it on November 6, 2024, with an India launch expected by early 2025. As seen from the camouflaged mule, it looks like the mini Kushaq with split headlights, the signature butterfly grille and wraparound tail lights. It even gets 17-inch alloy wheels!

Ahead of its global debut, Skoda has confirmed features like electrically adjustable seats, ventilated front seats, and six airbags as standard, for the Kylaq. Engine options include a sole 115 PS/178 Nm 1-litre turbocharged petrol unit, paired with both manual and automatic transmission choices. You can learn more about the Kylaq's details here.
Mahindra is expected to launch the XUV.e8 by the end of this year. It is the all-electric version of the XUV700 and has been spotted testing multiple times. Recently, design patent images revealed the XUV.e8's interior, featuring a dashboard with a three-screen layout and a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo.
In terms of design, the XUV.e8 will incorporate EV-specific styling cues while maintaining the overall look of the XUV700. Powertrain details have not been confirmed yet, but it is likely to be offered with two battery pack options, a 60 kWh and an 80 kWh battery pack. It is also expected to be available in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
The mid-cycle facelift of the MG Gloster is also expected to launch by the end of 2024. This updated model is already sold in international markets and has been spotted testing on our roads a couple of times. Pricing is expected to start from around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a direct rival to the Toyota Fortuner.
With this update, you can expect a more muscular exterior and a more premium cabin, featuring a larger infotainment system and a redesigned centre console. The updated Gloster will continue to be offered with two diesel engine options which include a 2-litre turbocharged unit generating 161 PS and 374 Nm, and a 2-litre twin-turbocharged unit delivering 216 PS and 479 Nm.
Back in 2023, Hyundai debuted the facelifted Tucson for the European market, featuring a mildly tweaked exterior design and a revamped interior. Now, the updated Tucson is expected to arrive in the Indian market, carrying the same sharp design language as the international model.
It will likely be offered with the same engine options available with the outgoing model, including a 186 PS/416 Nm 2-litre diesel engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a 156 PS/192 Nm 2-litre petrol unit available with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Earlier this year, Skoda announced its plan to introduce the Enyaq iV in India and the all-electric SUV was also revealed at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Globally, it is available with three battery pack options, delivering a claimed range of up to 510 km, although the powertrain details for the India-spec model are yet to be revealed.
Since it will be brought in as a fully imported model, you can expect it to be priced from around Rs 65 lakh, competing against the Kia EV6. The globally sold model comes with features such as a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a multi-zone climate control system, powered and heated front seats, and wireless phone charging. Safety tech includes multiple airbags and electronic aids along with a 360-degree camera and ADAS.
Skoda's sister brand, Volkswagen, has also confirmed the launch of the ID.4 in India. It is based on the same platform as the Enyaq iV and will likely be offered with similar powertrain options. You can also expect a similar price tag to the Enyaq iV, which is expected to start from around Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom).
The ID.4 boasts a minimalistic design inside and out, consistent with VW's electric car styling. Internationally, it comes equipped with features such as a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, a three-zone climate control system, a panoramic glass roof, and power front seats with a heating function.
Mercedes-Benz is expected to launch the AMG C 63 S E Performance in India by the end of 2024. It is a plug-in hybrid model that is powered by a 2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, coupled with dual electric motors mounted on each axle, generating a combined output of 680 PS and a staggering 1,020 Nm of torque.
The performance on the outside is complemented by an impressive feature list inside, which includes a 12.3-inch driver’s display, an 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, a heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, and electrically adjustable front seats.
Lastly, we expect Lotus to launch its second offering, the Emira, in India by the end of this year. It is a two-door sports car and is the brand's last internal combustion engine offering before they transition to an all-electric lineup. Globally, it is offered with two engine choices: a 2-litre Mercedes-sourced four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine sourced from Toyota. Its feature list includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, and a 10-speaker audio system. We hope the V6 makes its way to India!
