New big bikes dominated the news this past week

It has been raining big bikes of late with BMW Motorrad launching its first BS6 bikes and Kawasaki adding more BS6 bikes to its India lineup. Triumph is also readying itself for the arrival of the Tiger 900. Here are the main headlines:

BMW F 900 R & F 900 XR Launched
BMW Motorrad has joined the small list of big bike manufacturers who have begun offering BS6 bikes with the launch of the F 900 R naked and F 900 XR adventure-cum-sports tourer. Despite being CBU products, their price tags are quite attractive, making them one of the more affordable big bikes from Bavaria. Head here to know the new prices.

BS6 Kawasaki W800 & Versys 1000 Launched
After launching the updated Ninja 650, Kawasaki quietly brought the BS6 updates to the W800 and Versys 1000. While we weren’t surprised that Kawasaki would omit bringing in these updates for said motorcycles, we were pleasantly shocked to know that the BS6 W800 would retail for Rs 1 lakh less than before. Don’t believe it? Neither could we, but it is true.
