Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e: Unleashing An Electric Revolution

Much like last week, this week also saw a lot of action in the Indian auto industry with various car launches and big announcements. There were also some global reveals of cars that could come to Indian shores soon. Here are the five most important happenings that caught our attention:
India-spec 2020 Honda City Revealed
Honda India has finally unveiled the 2020 City after a delay in its debut due to the coronavirus pandemic. It will be offered in three variants, powered by BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines, and borrow styling bits from the Civic and Accord. It will also get a host of feature upgrades. 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS India Launch
Mercedes-Benz has finally brought the latest iteration of the 2020 GLS to India at a starting price of Rs 99.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is more rounded on the outside, feature loaded on the inside, and comes with three engine options: a 3.0-litre diesel and a 3.0-litre petrol engine that also comes with hybrid technology and delivers 22PS and 250Nm torque boost under hard acceleration. BMW M5, M5 Competition Facelift Global Debut
Shortly after unveiling the 2020 LCI 5 Series, the Bavarian brand gave the M5 and M5 Competition a mid-life refresh. Since the M5 is based on the updated 5 Series, it gets most of the latter’s styling upgrades aside from ‘M’ specific bits. The major changes are on the inside with various equipment upgrades. 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 Facelift Debuts
Mercedes-AMG unveiled the new and improved E63 just a few days after the debut of its arch rival, the updated M5. Offered in sedan and estate body styles, the AMG E63 gets refreshed exterior bits, a new 3-spoke steering wheel, and an updated infotainment system. BS4 Cars And Bike Sales Banned In India
The coronavirus pandemic delayed the inevitable but it’s finally official. The Supreme Court has banned the sale of BS4 vehicles in the country. The original deadline of March 31, 2020, was extended due to the COVID-19 situation. Head here for details on the BS4 sales ban.
