The first week of May saw rather different strategies from carmakers. While some rolled out offers on select models, others hiked prices across their lineups. We also witnessed a few debuts from Europe as well as tech giants announcing plans to enter the EV space. Read on for all the latest scoop from this week.
Offers And Price Hikes
Carmakers Honda, Toyota, Maruti Suzuki, and Hyundai have rolled out offers on certain models for the month of May. Meanwhile, Volvo models as well as the MG Gloster have become pricier.
Besides, the Kiger’s introductory pricing has come to an end, making most of its variants dearer by up to Rs 33,000. That said, it is still eligible for Renault’s offers this month.
Ola And Oppo’s EV Plans
Ola Electric, the car-sharing platform turned electric two-wheeler manufacturer, is already gearing up to launch a range of electric scooters in the next few months. Now, it has revealed its plans to launch electric four-wheelers as well within a couple of years. You can read the full story here.

Facelifted Land Rover Discovery
Land Rover has listed the facelifted Discovery on its Indian website. The updated Discovery, which debuted in November 2020, will be offered in four variants. It will also get a sportier R Dynamic trim, restricted to the S, SE, HSE variants. Head here for more details on the upcoming Discovery.
Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Debut Date
Volkswagen will take the covers off the updated Tiguan Allspace on May 12. The facelifted model could come to India considering its 5-seater version will be available here soon. Ferrari 812 Competizione
Ferrari’s latest offering will raise the hair at the back of your neck by the mere mention of its specs. The Competizione, also available in a Targa-top version, is Ferrari’s most powerful internal combustion-engined model ever.
