Ever since the debut of the MG Gloster at Auto Expo 2020, we’ve seen several teasers and spy shots of the SUV. Now, it looks like it will be heading to Indian showrooms soon. The upcoming full-size SUV has been spotted at dealerships ahead of its Diwali launch.

The three-row full-size SUV is essentially a rebadged version of the Maxus/LDV D90 sold in markets such as China and Australia. It features large proportions, a butch stance via body cladding, a large slatted grille with slim LED headlamps, dual-tone alloy wheels, and split LED tail lamps at the rear.

The cabin takes inspiration from many European cars including a transmission console that’s similar to the one on the BMW X7. Expect it to be loaded with features such as large touchscreen infotainment with connected car tech, digital driver’s display, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, premium sound system, and powered front seats.

Since the Gloster is a rebadged Maxus/LDV D90, it is likely to garner high safety standards as the latter scored a five-star rating in the ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program) safety test. Expect equipment like multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors as well as electronic stability program. It will also get assists like autonomous emergency braking, park assist, adaptive cruise control, and even lane keeping assist. Some of these features are being offered for the first time in the segment.

The MG Gloster is likely to retail around the Rs 40 lakh to Rs 45 lakh mark (ex-showroom). The 7-seater SUV will take on the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Alturas G4.
