Toyota has brought the new Hilux Black Edition at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, showcasing a fresh, bold twist to its iconic pickup truck. The newly unveiled Black Edition ditches the chrome for an aggressive all-black exterior, adding a bold and stealthy character to the pickup. Despite the design overhaul, it continues to feature the same proven powertrain options as the standard Hilux. Let’s take a look at all things new in this new edition:
The Toyota Hilux Black Edition embraces a menacing all-black exterior theme, with blacked-out elements used extensively. The grille, alloy wheels, outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), side footsteps, and door handles are all finished in black, giving the pickup a bold and stealthy look. The only chrome accent can be found on the rear bumper, adding a subtle contrast to the otherwise dark aesthetic. The overall design, including projector LED headlights, LED tail lights, and the ‘Toyota’ lettering on the tailgate, remains identical to the standard Hilux.
The interior of the Hilux Black Edition retains the layout of the standard model but comes with an all-black cabin theme that complements its exterior. It features similarly coloured seat upholstery, maintaining a cohesive and premium look.
Key features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an instrument cluster with analogue dials and a multi-information display (MID), dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, powered driver’s seat, a 6-speaker sound system and cruise control.
The Toyota Hilux Black Edition comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including 7 airbags as standard, front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The Toyota Hilux Black Edition continues to be powered by the same 2.8-litre diesel engine as the standard model. It delivers 204 PS and 420 Nm of torque when paired with the 6-speed manual and 204 PS and 500 Nm with the 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Hilux is equipped with an all-wheel-drive setup, making it a capable off-roader.
Toyota is yet to announce the prices for the Hilux Black Edition. However, considering the regular Hilux is priced between Rs 30.40 lakh and Rs 37.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the Black Edition is expected to be positioned slightly higher. Its closest competitor remains the Isuzu V-Cross in the Indian market.
