The Toyota Innova is the car that has changed the face of the MPV segment in India. However, it hasn’t quite received a substantial update in almost a decade. And that is one of the prime reasons why there is already so much hype around its soon to be launched successor, the Innova Crysta.

Last week, a table revealed the technical specifications of the Toyota Innova Crysta. And now, a leaked brochure discloses the key features on the car. LED projector headlamps, automatic climate control at the front as well as at the back, and keyless entry with button start are some of the first-in-class features that the Innova Crysta will come with. Other feature highlights include, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with navigation, one-touch tumble, and two ‘Power’ and ‘Eco’ driving modes.

In terms of safety, aside from ABS and Airbags, the Innova Crysta will also come with vehicle stability control and hill-start assist. It is features like these and Toyota’s structural strength that has brought the Innova Crysta a 4-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP tests.

Under the hood, the Innova Crysta will come with two diesel engines – a 2.4-litre and a 2.8-litre unit. Both these engines are four-cylinder turbocharged units, but are different in terms of output. The 2.4-litre unit pumps 149PS and 343Nm and comes mated to a manual transmission. The larger 2.8-litre unit will only come mated to an automatic transmission and will churn out 174PS and 360Nm.

All set to be launched on 2nd May, 2016, the Toyota Innova Crysta is sure to up the ante in the MPV segment and with that in mind it will surely be priced at a premium over the current generation model.
