The facelifted Toyota Innova Crysta has started reaching dealerships ahead of its possible November 24 launch. Select dealers have even commenced unofficial pre-launch bookings for a token amount of Rs 50,000. We’ve now got our hands on the variant list and the new feature additions for the upcoming MPV.
It will be offered in five variants: G, G+, GX, VX, and ZX with the first two retaining the existing model’s fascia. Apart from the G variant, which is limited to fleet operators, the other four will be available for private car buyers. The G+ variant, based on the G trim, will feature a different alloy wheel design. Sixteen-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are offered right from the GX variant while the top-spec ZX utilises larger 17-inch units.
The facelifted Innova Crysta will see two new feature additions: an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, offered right from the GX variant, as well as front parking sensors which are limited to the top two trims. Pictures of the updated MPV reveal new seat covers with Crysta insignia. The interior layout remains similar to the pre-facelifted Innova. The top-end variant features beige upholstery -- which was offered as an option before -- and gold inserts around the infotainment system. The lower variants continue to utilise an all-black theme.
Most of the design updates for the Innova are at the front. It looks sportier now thanks to the blacked-out grille which gets a chrome surround. The redesigned bumpers go well with the redesigned grille. At the side, the facelifted Innova features new dual-tone alloy wheels while the rear-end remains unchanged.
The facelifted Innova Crysta will retain the existing model’s 150PS 2.4-litre diesel engine and 166PS 2.7-litre petrol unit. Both engines can be had with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Prices for the facelifted Innova Crysta are likely to be revealed on November 24. Dealer sources have hinted it could cost Rs 50,000 more than the existing MPV priced between Rs 15.66 lakh and Rs 23.63 lakh (ex-showroom). The Innova will rekindle its rivalry with the Mahindra Marazzo, MG Hector Plus, and the upcoming Tata Hexa BS6.
