Toyota Innova Crysta new mid-spec GX+ variant launched

Toyota has launched a new mid-spec GX+ variant for the popular Innova Crysta, taking the total number of broad trims available on the popular MPV to 5. The new GX+ variant gets design enhancements and added features over the GX variant which it is based on. It is priced from Rs 21.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in both 7- and 8-seater configurations.

As seen in the table above, to get the new GX+ variant, you will end up paying a premium of Rs 1.4 lakh for the 7-seater version and Rs 1.45 lakh for the 8-seater version. Here’s what you get for the extra dough:
The Innova Crysta GX+ variant gets additional features and design enhancements inside and out over the GX variant. These additions include a reverse parking camera, auto-fold ORVMS, DVR, diamond-cut alloy wheels, wooden panels, and premium fabric seats.
The Innova Crysta is available in 5 colours: Super White, Attitude Black Mica, Avant-garde Bronze Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Silver Metallic.
The Innova Crysta GX+ gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC, auto-fold ORVMs, rear AC vents, tilt and telescopic steering, and all four power windows.
Safety is taken care of by reverse parking sensors, three airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, and hill-start assist control.
The Innova Crysta GX+ variant is powered by the familiar 2.4-litre diesel engine making 150 PS and 343 Nm. It only gets the option of a 5-speed manual transmission across all its variants, driving the rear wheels.
The Innova Crysta is a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Rumion. It also rivals the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Carens, and Toyota Innova Hycross.
