Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM), a subsidiary of Toyota Motors, Japan, touches the one millionth car sales mark in India. The company handed over the car, the Toyota Etios, to its one millionth customer in a ceremony organised to celebrate the company’s milestone success.
Speaking on this occasion, N Raja, Senior Vice-President, TKM, says, “The sale of Toyota’s one millionth car in India marks a very important milestone for us. Since its inception, Toyota has been present in the MPV/SUV segment in India and we have been market leaders ever since in these segments. It is only in 2011 that we forayed into the mass segment with the Etios & Liva and still have been able to realise this milestone in such a short duration.”
“As we achieve this significant landmark, I would like to thank our valuable customers, dealer partners, employees and suppliers for their support and commitment. We will continue to focus our efforts in bringing Toyota’s globally renowned QDR products to the Indian market,” he adds.
According to N Raja the recent cut in excise duty will further help to boost the sales of cars in the country. To celebrate their success TKM has announced a special scheme for their customers this month, whereby they can choose from various exciting offers and can avail benefits upto Rs 40,000.
