The Toyota Yaris will receive a significant makeover this year, with the most striking change being the adoption of a new front-end inspired by the recently unveiled Toyota Aygo. Alongside the updated face, Toyota claims that its new car will get an improved interior and upgraded dynamics.
The face-lifted Toyota Yaris features a more distinctive cross-shaped front fascia as well as new headlamps. The rear has received a similar treatment, and is now fitted with restyled LED light clusters, a revised rear bumper with integrated diffuser and a new number plate surround.
The interior of the new car is significantly revised. The cabin packs a new version of the Toyota infotainment system. A large seven-inch integrated touchscreen comes as standard, while the centre console has been raised to reduce the length of the gearstick.
Although the Toyota Yaris receives several cosmetic changes, the mechanical specifications remain unchanged. Power comes from the same range of engines including a 1.33-litre petrol engine, a 1.4-litre diesel and a full-hybrid powertrain combining a 1.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor. Apart from that, Toyota has also revised the suspension setup, to improve ride comfort and handling.
The new Toyota Yaris will go on sale later this year. The company is yet to announce the pricing details.
