Toyota India has revealed the Yaris Limited Black Edition in the country. It’s likely to be based on the top-spec variant and should be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options.
As the name suggests, the Yaris Limited Black Edition comes finished in… erm… black. This new colour, offered in the Yaris for the first time, does make the Yaris look sporty. You get contrasting chrome surrounds around the headlamps and tail lamps. It must be mentioned that Toyota also offers the Yaris with dual-tone variants with a black-colour roof.
But the addition of a new colour isn’t the only update here. The Yaris Limited Black Edition gets one new feature: ambient lighting strips on the door pads.
Apart from these upgrades, the Yaris remains changed. Feature highlights include a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control, cruise control, keyless entry with push button start, a multi-info display and powered driver’s seat. Safety features include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors as well as electronic stability control.
The Toyota Yaris Limited Black Edition will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that develops 107PS of power and 140Nm of torque. It should be offered with a 6-speed manual and CVT options.
The Toyota Yaris Limited Black Edition aims to cater for those who want a stealthy dark coloured car. Expect prices to be announced in the coming days, probably slightly more than the top-spec model which costs Rs 14.34 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, the only other car in the segment that’s offered in black is the Hyundai Verna. The Yaris’ other rivals include the Honda City, VW Vento, Skoda Rapid, and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
