I'm all excited as I am about to enter the theater. It's been a while since a nice engrossing car flick was released and the scrumptious Audi A8 on the posters was enough for me to book my ticket in advance. The movie I am talking about here is 'The Transporter 3' which is the third installment in the Transporter film series.

The plot all throughout the series revolves around Jason Statham, an ex-military guy who has now taken to a low key business of delivering packages, no questions asked. But how and in what he delivers the packages was of most importance to car freaks like us. In the first movie, the car used to dodge the police and the bad guys was a BMW 735 iL. The car sequences were cool, especially the first one where Jason Statham tries to make a getaway with the bank robbers. The sequel to it was the Transporter 2. The Bimmer was replaced by its Ingolstadt rival, the Audi A8 W12. Although the storyline was nothing much to talk about, some of the car actions scenes seemed right of a Hindi movie.

Transporter 3 promised some more Audi action again. In the third sequel Jason Statham is pressured into transporting the kidnapped daughter of a minister. There is no escape as a device attached to Jason Statham's wrist won't allow him to get more than 75 feet from his car. The best scene in this sequel is the battle between the Audi and the bad guys Mercedes-Benz E-class. How on earth does the E manage to catch Statham's highly tuned A8 on straight roads is still a mystery though. It's all high octane action as Jason and Natalya Rudakova escape from one life threatening situation to another. Towards the end as Jason is about to jump the Audi from the top a bridge onto a moving train, he is shown doing a rear wheel drive burnout. I wonder how he managed to get the Quattro to spin just the rear wheels. The car lands on the train safely minus any body damage even to the bumpers. I'd sure like to learn how to that. Apart from some bollywood type stunts, I would definitely recommend the movie for a one time watch.
