Ever since Triumph Motorcycles entered the Indian two-wheeler market, it has managed to cement its position in the premium motorcycle segment. Now, the iconic British bike maker has completed four years in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Vimal Sumbly, managing director of Triumph Motorcycles India, said, "It has been a delightful ride for us in India with a great response from not only our customers and partners but also the entire riding fraternity who share our passion and enthusiasm. In fact, we are proud to say that Triumph Motorcycles has been instrumental in bringing back another chapter of riding amongst thousands of enthusiasts who had hung up their riding gear due to non-availability of exciting bikes here in India.”
In a span of four years, the company has so far given us 16 different motorcycles across five different categories, which include the Triumph Street Triple RS, Triumph Tiger 800 and 1200 and the recently unveiled Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster. So far, the British company has managed to spread their reach to 4500 customers through 14 dealerships across the country.
It was just recently that the company announced a strategic partnership with Bajaj, which should help Triumph in solidifying their position in the Indian market beyond high-capacity premium motorcycles. We are expecting to see the fruit of this partnership to come in the form of a sub-600cc motorcycle by 2020.
