TVS launches 2015 Edition of Phoenix 125

South India based two-wheeler maker TVS expects a 2.5 per cent boost in market share with the launch of its 125cc Phoenix. Currently TVS has a seven per cent market share. To achieve its target it needs 20,000 units monthly sales of the Phoenix.
Arun Siddarth, GM (Marketing Motorcycles) said, "Our market share in motorcycles segment will go up by 2.5 per cent to 9.5 per cent because of the launch of our deluxe Phoenix 125cc bike. In 125cc segment, we expect 11-12 per cent market share. We have developed an all-new engine for 125cc motorcycle. This launch will increase our market share in the segment.”
However the prospects seem difficult as its Q2 results showed a decline, with 1.67 lakh units against 2.4 lakh units sold in the corresponding year.
