The world of motorsport can be exhilarating but at the same instant, terrifying. The level of apprehension rises when we talk about the Isle of Man TT. It is among the most popular motorsport event held across the globe while also the scariest. But it is this thrill that results in thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts turning up at the event religiously every year to conquer the mountain course. While most complete the race successfully, sadly a few don’t.
The first victim of the 2014 edition of the race was 65 year old Bob Price, who hailed from Gloucestershire, England. The British rider was killed after he crashed on the third lap of the Supersport 1 Race. Bob had been participating at the Isle of Man TT from 1992 onward and finished third in the MGP Junior Classic in 2002 and runner up position in the same year in the Senior Classic.
Tragedy struck again, when 34 year old Karl Harris hailing from Sheffield, England met with a fatal crash on second lap of the Superstock class race. Harris was a professional racer and had made his TT debut in 2012. He had successful run in the British Supersport Championship as he had won it on three occasions between 2001 and 2004. Harris had also finished on podium in the British Superbike series. The British rider commenced his racing career as a teenager in early 1990s and progressed to win the 1999 European Superstock 1000cc Championship before spending a season in the World Supersport Championship.
