After recently opening a new dealership in Kerala, UM Motorcycles, the Indian arm of the American motorcycle maker UM International, has opened yet another dealership in India. Situated in Guwahati, the 750 sq.ft showroom is located at T.N. Tower, near LCB College in Maligaon. Apart from displaying bikes, the showroom will also have an area for interacting with customers, and dedicated after-sales service and support area. A 24x7 Roadside Assistance Programme (RSA) will also be available for all customers in Guwahati with immediate effect.
Commenting on the launch, Kishor Jain, Director, LUIT UM said: “It’s indeed an honour for us to be a partner with UM Motorcycles, the world-renowned motorcycle manufacturer. Guwahati has a rich motorcycling culture and after riding the Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sports S, I am sure that all bikers who prefer cruisers will opt for our products without a single thought. As representatives of UM Motorcycles, we shall ensure all customers are pampered with the luxurious UM experience. The level of interest in the UM brand in Guwahati has been very positive. Our investment in the showroom and workshop as already been rewarded by confirming orders which we have received prior to the inauguration.”
UM Motorcycles’ current product portfolio consists of the Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sport S, priced at Rs 1.74 lakh and Rs 1.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Guwahati) respectively. Both the cruiser bikes share the same platform and are powered by a 280cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes around 25PS of maximum power and 21.8Nm of peak torque. The bikes come with interesting features like USB charging port, storage area below the rear seat, a wide rear tyre and smooth six-speed synchromesh gearbox with overdrive for smooth cruising, and higher fuel efficiency on long distance journeys.
