Ford to launch the updated Endeavour latest by first week of March.
Will likely not get updates to the powertrains.
Changes will mostly be cosmetic.
Upgrade in features are expected.
The Endeavour is one of Ford’s most revered vehicles if not the best selling. Thanks to is butch looks and off-road capability, the behemoth ranks high on quite a few wishlists. The new gen Endeavour was launched back in 2016 and was due for an update.
Although, the exact date hasn’t been confirmed yet, Ford India will be launching the Endeavour facelift in India by the last week of February and latest by first week of March. However, the changes to the Endeavour are expected to be purely cosmetic in nature. And that too, the untrained eye might be hard-pressed to spot them. For starters, the front chrome grille will be reworked. It will also get new fog lamp surrounds along with a new silver element for the lower half of the front bumper. The headlamps will be reworked as well and will come with longer LED DRLs. The rest is expected to be the same, however, a new alloy wheel design can be expected.
The cabin of the Endeavour will likely feature more soft-touch surfaces to increase the luxury quotient. The autonomous driving assist systems will be skipped to keep the vehicle price in check. In addition, the new engine options available abroad will not be offered here. The Endeavour will continue to be powered by the same 2.2-litre 4-cylinder and 3.2-litre 5-cylinder diesel engines mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Both engines are BSVI-compatible and will be updated to comply with the BSVI norms when they kick in by April 2020. Ford is however expected to retune the suspension for better ride and handling.
As of now, the Endeavour is priced between Rs 26.83 lakh and 33.31 lakh and rivals the Toyota Fortuner, which is priced between Rs 27.58 lakh and 33.28 lakh.
