Tata Tigor is just a year old in the Indian market and Tata is already set to update the ‘styleback’ sedan come October 10. The Indian carmaker today released a short teaser video with the new headlamp assembly that will grace the face of the new Tigor. In the video, projector lamps are clearly visible along with chrome surrounds. The blue paint scheme will also be added to the portfolio. In a second teaser, Tata has also revealed the tail lamp assembly which will be a wraparound units with clear lenses and LED lamps.
The new Tigor is expected to get a revised feature list as well. A new and bigger infotainment system with Android Auto a la Nexon could find its way to the Tigor. Other additions will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD along with ISOFIX child anchorages. Corner stability control could also be offered as standard. Rear parking sensors will also be offered as standard and will help increase the Tigor’s appeal.

There will, however, be no change to the Tigor’s powertrains. It will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine and 1.05-litre 3-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine. The petrol engine will be available with both 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes, while the diesel comes with a 5-speed manual only. Although prices are yet to be announced, we expect it to be approximately Rs 10,000 higher than the current starting price of Rs 5.06 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The launch of the updated Tigor comes just in time for Tata to capitalise on the festive season. So contrary to our previous point, Tata just might introduce the Tigor with an introductory price.
