Piaggio India has launched the Vespa 75th Anniversary Limited Edition scooters in India. The new trim has been employed on both Vespa VXL125 and Vespa VXL150 models.
What’s The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?
Pricing for the Vespa 125 75th Anniversary is set to Rs 1,25,996 whereas the 150cc version costs Rs 1,39,090 (both ex-showroom). Compared to the standard models, both the new 125 and the 150 cost almost Rs 13,000 more.

In the 125cc scooter segment, the Vespa 75th Anniversary Edition rivals the Suzuki Access 125, Aprilia SXR 125, Yamaha Fascino 125 FI Hybrid and the Honda Activa 125. While the 150cc variant has no direct rivals you could opt for the Aprilia SXR 160 instead.
What’s New?
The changes are strictly cosmetic. Both the 125 and 150 editions are draped in glossy Gialo livery and get Nobuk leather-feel seat covers. You also get a top-mounted round bag at the rear on the retractable rack.
It sports the number ‘75’ on the front fender, the side panels and the apron. Both the scooters roll on smoked grey wheels and get a clear flyscreen at the front.
What’s Unchanged?
the automobile community
The Vespa 125 75th Anniversary is likely powered by the same 125cc air-cooled motor developing 9.92PS and 9.60Nm while the Vespa 150 75th Anniversary could retain the 150cc air-cooled motor that belts out 10.49PS and 10.60Nm.
Even the underpinnings and the features remain unchanged. Both the models get LED illumination and are sprung on a single front suspension and a rear shock. The braking hardware is also carried over and comprises a 200mm front disc with a 142mm drum.
What Should Have Been Changed?
Considering the high asking price, the addition of a fully digital instrument cluster and connectivity features could have been a welcomed addition.
ZigSays
Both the 125 and the 150 models are quite pricey for what they offer. However, if you fancy Italian designs and are willing to pay the premium, these Vespa(s) make sense.
