Volkswagen of America has revamped its website VW.com, following a soft launch last week. The redesigned website lets consumers shop for cars based on desired features, such as colour or price, among the available inventory of more than 80,000 vehicles at Volkswagen dealerships nationwide.
Speaking at the launch, Vinay Shahani, Vice-President, Brand Marketing, Volkswagen of America, said, “With the new VW.com experience, consumers don't need to know our product lineup to find a car that's right for them. Consumers simply select the features they want, and VW.com instantly connects them to a range of options based on both their needs and available inventory in their area. We’re excited to be at the forefront of this type of online innovation that utilises a truly intuitive approach."
Volkswagen claims that its newly revamped website is different from the other branded car shopping sites. According to the automaker, VW.com has been designed to put the shopper first. The carmaker states that the website has a simplified, tablet-first concept which makes navigation easier. Each individual car for sale has a comprehensive profile page which displays information such as features, specs, warranty, pictures, accessories and dealer information. The portal also displays tools such as a Payment Estimator, on the vehicle detail page which enables users to get all the information without leaving the profile page.
