Yamaha expanded its scooter range in the UK market by unveiling the new Majesty S. According to the Japanese manufacturer, the Majesty S is an easy to ride scooter with good fuel efficiency, factors that are of primary concern for an urban commuter. In terms of design, the Majesty S has been styled on the lines of the highly popular maxi-scooters with a large windscreen and sports LED tail lamp. The scooter has been equipped with a semi-digital-semi-analogue instrument cluster with an analogue tachometer, while the digital display houses the speedometer, trip meter and fuel gauge.

Since the Majesty S will be mostly used for commuting and carrying knick-knacks, Yamaha has provided generous underseat storage space that can accommodate a full face helmet and a large inner box at front. For a comfortable riding posture, the Majesty S has a raised handlebar, spacious and flat footboard and stepped seats. Powering the Yamaha Majesty S is a 125cc, liquid-cooled mill producing 12PS of power and 11.6Nm of torque. The motor is mate to a CVT transmission to power the rear-wheel. According to Yamaha, the powerplant has been tuned for crisp acceleration that will be helpful while commuting through congested urban roads while returning good fuel efficiency.

According to Yamaha, the 13-inch alloys and the compact dimensions have been provided to improve the scooters manoeuvrability especially while squeezing your way out of traffic. The scooter sports telescopic forks at front and a mono-schock setup at rear to take care of suspension duties. For braking, the Yamaha Majesty S employs 267mm disc brakes at front and 245mm disc brakes at the back. The Yamaha Majesty S will be offered in three shades of Silky White, Mat Titan and Midnight Black; it will be on sale in the UK market from June 2014 onwards.
