Yamaha T7 Tenere Adventure Bike Launch Soon

Yamaha Motor Europe has shared a teaser video on its YouTube channel in which it has been mentioned that a new motorcycle will be launched on September 6. The video shows a trail and the tag line “Your adventure awaits.” indicating the fact that the new bike will be an adventure tourer bike. The new Yamaha motorcycle is likely to be the production version of the Yamaha T7 Concept that was showcased at last year’s EICMA motorcycle show in Italy. The new Yamaha motorcycle is likely to be called the T7 Tenere and based on the Yamaha MT-07 naked motorcycle. The Yamaha T7 Tenere will be the replacement to the XT600Z Tenere and sit below the flagship Yamaha Super Tenere, which is a 1200cc adventure bike. 

The T7 Tenere will be powered by the same twin-cylinder 689cc engine as seen on the MT-07 that develops 75PS and 68Nm of peak torque. It is likely that Yamaha engineers will employ stronger piston rings, reworked head, and similar such modifications to the motor given its purpose. The Yamaha adventure bike features quad LED lights, aluminium tank, slim long seat, engine bash plate and a stubby custom Akrapovic exhaust system which we feel will be carried forward to the production bike. The concept bike featured carbon fibre panels which we feel will be ditched for cost effectiveness. 

The Yamaha T7 Tenere features long travel suspension along with 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear one, wrapped with block-tread tyres to make it an able off-roader. It is highly unlikely that Yamaha India will get the T7 Tenere to our shores as the high saddle height and premium pricing -- since it has to be brought in as a CBU -- will be a deterrent.
