Electric vehicles are no more a thing of the future. They are here, right around us, even as you read this story. While India has the Athers, the Bajajs and a few more, our neighbor has the Yatri Motorcycles. Apart from the Project Zero that we covered in yesterday’s story, the Nepalese brand has launched its second electric offering, christened the Project One.
To say the least, it's the love child of a supermoto and an EV. The Project One looks just as sleek and has minimal cladding like the Zero e-bike. At the front, we have the round LED headlight with the DRL. Like its sibling, the Project One is also a single-seater.
Output ratings are 14kW of peak power and a neck-snapping 480Nm of torque. The Project One is pretty light on the feet as well, tipping the weight scale at just 110kg. With this power to weight ratio, Yatri claims that the bike fits in the 250cc motorcycle realm. Moreover, its top speed is limited to 100kmph and it offers a maximum range of 110km from its 3kWh battery.
While Yatri Motorcycles are yet to reveal the full deets on the underpinnings, the visuals make it very clear that the bike is suspended on USD front forks and a rear monoshock. The braking hardware consists of a front and rear disc. Rolling on spoked wheels, the Project One stays true to its objective and gets thick dual-purpose rubber.
In its home country, the E-motorcycle retails at NPR 4,95,000 (approximately Rs 3.09 lakh). The booking amount has been set to NPR 10,000. Yatri Motorcycles hasn’t set up any base in India just yet, so the maximum you can do is import one (the Project One), if that’s possible in the first place.
