2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO vs Hyundai Venue: Which Turbo-petrol SUV Is Quicker?

In the latest edition of the Zig performance report, we line up the newly launched Mahindra XUV 3XO and Hyundai Venue to see which one is quicker. Both are in their top-spec guises and we have the automatic variants on test. Which one manages to cross the line first? Let’s find out… but before that, our customary spec check! 

Specifications Compared 

On paper, the XUV 3XO’s larger turbo-petrol engine puts out 10PS and 78Nm more than the Venue. That said, the automatic transmission option is different for both the SUVs. The Venue gets a dual-clutch automatic, while the XUV 3XO gets a torque converter. Does the added power of the XUV 3XO help it beat the Venue?

Acceleration Test 

Whoa! That was very close to the line. The XUV 3XO, despite its power advantage, managed to beat the Venue by just 0.03 seconds in the outright acceleration test. But where the Mahindra really suffers is in the roll-on acceleration test, where it was slower than the Venue by 7.51 seconds.

Do note that in the real world, both these SUVs offer more than satisfactory performance. 

Price And Verdict

In the confines of this test, it makes sense to call this test a tie, considering that the XUV 3XO won the 0-100kmph test, while the Venue came ahead in the roll-on acceleration run.
