Tata Motors Launches its Magic IRIS and Ace Zip

The light commercial vehicle movement in India seems to be moving ahead slowly, but surely with more and more key players like Mahindra, Piaggio and now Tata introducing lightweight, yet robust vehicles that can withstand the demanding Indian road conditions without causing damage to the wide variety of precious goods and fragile materials loaded on their backs.

Tata’s extensive model line-up of vehicles in both the light commercial (pick-up) and passenger carrier segments has penetrated swiftly into the Indian market, and the introduction of its latest two mini models, the Tata Magic IRIS and the Ace Zip will seek to override Tata’s absence in India’s 3-4 seater small passenger carrier and sub-600 kg goods carrier vehicle categories.  

‘Tata Magic IRIS’

Both being the youngest siblings of their respective brotherhoods, first up is the all new ‘Tata Magic IRIS’, designed to become a stylish alternative for those still dependent on three-wheelers as means of public transport. Equipped with a powerful 611 cc, water cooled engine with 11 HP power and 31 Nm torque, the Tata Magic IRIS delivers better power, pickup and gradeability which results in faster trips over long travel distances.

Wide doors for easy entry and exit, comfortable seating, seatbelts, more headroom & legroom all come standard with the new IRIS, to ensure passengers have a safe and comfortable ride.

Being offered with a warranty of 1 year or 36,000km whichever is earlier, the BSIII version is priced at Rs 1.95 lakh, ex showroom Thane (without octroi). You can also pick the colour that you think best suits your new Magic IRIS from 4 colour options - Arctic White, Ruby Red, School Yellow and Jet Black. 

‘Tata Ace Zip’

The ACE family has just gotten bigger with the entry of its smallest member. Though tinier than its heavyduty Super Ace and ACE EX cousins, the Tata Ace Zip is a small but smart micro truck with a payload capacity of 600 kg. Built for deeper door-to-door penetration, the Ace Zip has the agility to navigate narrow by-lanes owing to its small turning radius of just 3.5 metres making it apt for both urban and rural use. 

The only sub-600 kg mini van to house a water cooled engine, the Ace Zip is built to cover long distances with ease and is hence suitable for varied application. The new Tata Ace Zip comes with a warranty of 36,000 km/ 12-month, whichever is earlier and its BSIII version is priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh, ex showroom Thane (without octroi).
