Here’s what happened in the world of cars this past week
ZigWheels News Wrapup

This week was quiet in terms of launches in the Indian market. The two major ones - of the all-new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Mahindra Alturas G4 - happened last week. But it was raining cars anyway, the 2018 Los Angeles Motor Show kicked off and there were many cars showcased, mostly concentrated at the large US market but some will make their way to India.

Volkswagen/Skoda India’s plans to launch new cars based on the MQB A0-IN platform are in full swing, there will be cars tailor-made to our market. Our spy photographers have been at work, and so have been our industry experts, to get you the latest about upcoming cars and company plans. If you are planning to buy a car, maybe hold your horses for a bit? Because there’re at least 10 upcoming cars your wait is worth for. Here’s a summary:

Big News

Made-In-India Volkswagen T-Cross

Volkswagen India has gone through a major restructuring process and will start their innings anew with new products based on the MQB A0-IN platform. One of the first products in the lineup will be the T-Cross compact SUV, a Hyundai Creta rival. While it may look like the model sold in international markets like Brazil, the Made-In-India version will be heavily localised with a unique feature set to match Indian realities. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Fever Continues

It’s been over a week since the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was launched in India, and it sure is impressive but not outright brilliant. We’ve pitted it against all the MPVs in the non-luxury segment to see how good the Ertiga is on paper. You can check out the comparison here.

Meanwhile, seeing that the Ertiga has become more stylish than before, we wonder if Maruti should go the whole hog and give it the ultimate style treatment. The Suzuki Sport Ertiga showcased in Indonesia certainly looks like an appealing factory-fitted styling kit which could set the Ertiga apart even more. Check out the photos and details here.
